It is not uncommon to find more than one PC in most family homes now. Networking them and connecting them to a single broadband Internet connection can have many advantages, not least always on Internet and e-mail but also house wide parental controls, access control and shared resources such as printers. |
Structured wiring systems bring phone, data and TV to a single point where it is distributed around the house, a central cabinet is installed that contains the distribution or patching, usually in a cupboard somewhere. The cabinet is the hub of your connected home and can be surface mounted or recessed and it allows you to repatch TV, Phone and Internet to different sockets around you home. Systems like this can also be used to distribute the UHF2 output from the living room Sky box to other TV's complete with IR control from other rooms.
How often to you back up your PC? With a home network and a simple server (maybe an old PC) we can set up back up routines from all PC's to a central server so that if a PC dies (they all do at some stage!) then your data is not lost.
