Lighting Control

Lighting plays an important part in creating the right environment for working productively and staying focused and healthy when at work. Lighting control can assist in maintaining light levels and in reducing energy consumption. Control systems that are properly designed tend to offer better energy savings in the long run as they are tailored to suit each businesses specific requirements. For example whilst it can be appropriate to simply add local presence detection this can sometimes cause lights to switch off at the wrong times, but by using a more intelligent building wide control system presence detection can be adjusted to suit occupancy at different times of the day.

Light level maintenance or daylight harvesting can be utillised to reduce artificial light levels on bright days for areas close to windows. This has the benefit of not only reducing energy consumption but also in providing a more comfortable working environment. Studies have shown that a properly designed and installed lighting control system can reduce emergy consumption by up to 50%.

Dynalite

Dynalite offers a wide range of control components that enable us to design a system that is scaleable from a single room to a complete building and one that can be expanded in the furture. Using a combination of wall mounted controls, presence and light level sensors and touch screens an intelligent system can be designed to offer the right ballance between energy management and convenience.

KNX, the only open protocol for building control, allows us to take components from over 100 differentKNX manfacturers and guarantee they will work together. Wall switches, sensors, dimmers and relays can be selected from any manufacturer which ensures we can find the right product to suit a clients needs and decor. Another key benefit of KNX is it's ability to control sun shading, security shutters, heating, ventilation and air conditioning, all using the same communications bus as the lighting. With a KNX system you don't need to work out how to interface a lighting system to a building management system - KNX can be the building management system!
